Workers’ comp needs real reform, not ‘red tape’ fiddling

<a href=" straight from the source.jpg”>The workers’ compensation system in Australia needs a radical overhaul, not just shifting costs. Comcare is not the answer for many large national businesses. WCD urges sound, due diligence before migrating to a system originally designed for public servants mainly working in office environments. This system may work for some but is not the answer for all.

The jurisdictional “race to the bottom” for lowest premium rates, arguably just shifts the costs of poor work health and safety onto federal social security systems (taxpayers), workers and their families, and reduces public policy incentives for investment in safe and healthy workplaces.
